My handmade-jewelry designs are inspired by art and science. Maybe a little spiritual alchemy, as well.
I find sequences of elements that create a higher esthetic. When those elements are put in the right order, magic happens.
You know it when you see it.
I created IDENTITY Jewelry Design to empower my customers to express who they are in new, fun and powerful ways. These limited edition handmade-jewelry collections reflect what makes you unique.
I make limited-edition jewelry pieces that tell a story.
When you wear one, it’s your story.
The materials I use for my unique jewelry are hand selected. I work with the variations and imperfections of beads from organic and inorganic sources. I look for exotic or unusual sources for the beads I use.
My materials and inspirations range from Venice to Tibet. From North Africa to India.
The particular form of striated pumpkin, or melon, Tibetan agate caught my eye early on in my journey. When incorporated into bracelets, the lines in the beads like up with the axis of the bracelet to create an energetic alignment.
Jade, Jasper, Agate, Lapis, Tiger Eye, River Stone, and others. Semi-precious stones have been traded by most cultures, ancient and modern. They are incorporated in everyday life and used for special occasions.
Organic materials, including bone and horn from Yak and Oxen have long been utilized in Asian, African and other bead-making. Many of these beads accent and enrich the other beads used in the sequence that makes each bracelet.
I fell in love with this particular element because it had such a rich feel when incorporated in the bracelets. Dare I say, it reminded me of the rich visual of sashimi. More exactly like Ahi Poke.
Glass and ceramic beads reflect the ancient tradition of beaded jewelry. Roman glass, Venetian, Persian, West African, from India and back to Ancient Egypt. I include these beads in my handmade-jewelry.
Traditional 108 bead mala used in Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism reflect the prayer beads used in Islam and Catholicism.
After a long career as a physician executive in employee benefits, it was time to fully unleash my creative side.
I make bracelets. I've always been fascinated with beads. My designs are inspired by science and medicine. Maybe a little spiritual alchemy, as well.
Sequences of elements matter. The human genome, coding languages and magical incantations all come from sequences. I find sequences of elements that create a higher esthetic. When those elements are put in the right order, magic happens. You know it when you see it.
